Resident / Fellow Research Awards

The KASTRO Resident/Fellow Research Awards have an impressive history with the first award dating back to 1988 for Korean graduates and 1995 for US graduates. The KASTRO Research Awards are made possible by the generous support of KASTRO members. You can support this and other KASTRO educational initiatives by making a tax-deductible donation.

We invite submissions of abstracts for the 2026 KASTRO Research Award. This award willsupport U.S. trainees with $1,000 towards travel expenses to the 2026 ASTRO/KASTRO meeting. The recipient will present the chosen abstract at the KASTRO dinner meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Boston, MA. Applicants must commit to presenting their work at KASTRO in person. The funds and certificate will be awarded at the KASTRO meeting after the presentation. Applicants are eligible if they are an MD/DO resident/fellow of Korean ancestry and a KASTRO member in a radiation oncology training program in the United States as of 6/30/26. MD/DO students applying to radiation oncology can also be considered. The abstract should have been accepted for presentation (oral or poster) at the 2026 ASTRO meeting, and the applicant should be the first or senior author.

We also invite submissions of abstracts for the 2026 KASTRO-KOSRO Research Award. This award will support a U.S. trainee or early-career attending with $2,000 towards travel expenses to the 2026 KOSRO meeting. The recipient will present the chosen abstract at the KOSRO meeting on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Kintex in Goyang city (http://www.kosro.or.kr). Applicants must commit to presenting their work at KOSRO in person. Applicants are eligible if they are an MD/DO resident/fellow of Korean ancestry and a KASTRO member currently in a radiation oncology training program in the United States as of 6/30/26 OR an early-career attending (in the first 7 years post-residency as of 6/30/26). MD/DO students applying to radiation oncology can also be considered. The abstract should have been accepted for presentation (oral or poster) at the 2025 ASTRO meeting, and the applicant should be the first or senior author.
