Opportunities for Members
Annual awards are available for residents and fellows presenting at KASTRO or KOSRO in Korea. Recipients of this award also receive additional opportunities to present their research at the annual KASTRO dinner at ASTRO.
Since 2018, with the initiative of senior residents, KASTRO has a mentorship program! Residents can be matched with a junior or senior attending, and medical students can be matched with a resident or attending. This is a great opportunity to develop a closer relationship with another KASTRO member who could help with career advancement, research, global health, and advice.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Since 2023, this biennial award has recognized lifetime achievement and lasting contributions to KASTRO and to the Korean oncology community. Nominations are accepted from all active KASTRO members and reviewed by the KASTRO executive board and officers.
The inaugural KASTRO Lifetime Achievement Award was presented in 2023 by Dr Nathan Kim and Dr Isabelle Choi to Dr Chul S Ha, Professor and Chair Emeritus, UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson.
